Sport Gambling: To be Legal or Not to be legal?

Many people are fascinated with various forms of gambling. Although many forms of gambling are illegal, gamblers still patronize this kind of entertainment.

One popular form of gambling is sport gambling. Even though this kind of gambling is associated in sports, governments still considered it as an illegal form of gambling.

However, different organizations that patronize sport gambling are pushing the issue for governments to legalize it. For the past few years, there had been debates and acts done that concerns the legalization of sport gambling.

One concern regarding the legalization of sport gambling is the integrity of the game that will be affected and be put in indignity. Since, sporting events will be the means for gamblers to make it as a form of gambling by betting on whose team will win with the point spread.

In this situation, the game is being put into mischievousness. Even players and coaches of different teams and athletes are in jeopardy of being in the hot seat because of sports gambling.

In the past, there have been incidents and scandals involving point shaving in a game by the players. Sometimes even coaches are involved in point shaving, they instruct their players to make a point or not, worse they even command players to win or lose the game.

With this kind of system, sport-gambling will greatly affect different sporting events integrity by this crime in the sports arena. Although, different organizations keep pushing the legalization of sport gambling, a majority of countries still consider it as an illegal form of gambling.

On the other hand, there are cases in some countries that accept sport gambling as a legal form of gambling. The countries that legalized sport gambling are only a small percent compared to the percent that oppose sports gambling to be legal.

Normally the main reason of opposing countries for the legalization of sport gambling is their religion. Most of these religions do not tolerate gambling. For some, it is an appalling policy in regards with social, economy, and government.

For many, sports gambling will only put various sport events in a serious mess. The integrity of players, coaches and others involved in the field of sports are at stake of being questioned.

But for true blue gamblers, whether sport gambling is legal or illegal is not an issue as long as there are other gamblers that are willing to make bets and take a risk in this kind of gambling. Sport gambling will continue so look for changes in attitude in governments as they will eventually want their piece of this pie.
